Shelf life on receipt: FAQ

How is percent shelf life remaining calculated?

It is the remaining shelf life (expiry date minus receipt date) divided by the total shelf life (expiry date minus manufacture date), as a percentage.

What minimum shelf life should I accept on delivery?

Common thresholds are 75% or 80% of total shelf life remaining, but the exact rule comes from your own SOP or your supply contract. Set it in the field and the tool decides accept or reject against it.

Why does this matter for GDP?

Under Good Distribution Practice, stock received with too little shelf life risks expiring before it can move, causing write-offs and stock-outs. A documented acceptance check at goods-in is an audit expectation.

Need your GDP goods-in process audit-ready?

We set up Good Distribution Practice SOPs, receiving and quarantine controls, and warehouse compliance so your acceptance decisions hold up in a PPB inspection.
